Legislation and regulationTrade specific legislationAlthough there is no trade specific legislation, local authorities may have made bye-laws with particular reference to hairdressers under the Public Health Act 1961. These will cover such things as health, safety and general hygiene at the premises. Hairdressers must register with the local authority Environmental Health department who will provide details of any such bye-laws which apply. In addition, hairdressers must comply with the requirements of general legislation, employment legislation and health and safety legislation. |
